Anybody out there work for Aflac and enjoy it?

I was called for a 2nd interview and not sure about it. The company says how great and wonderful it is and how I could retire in 10 years if I wanted to. It is strictly commission based and that sounds a little scary to me. I would also have to take the insurance course and test to be licensed and that costs $290 total. It all almost sounds to good to be true. So if anyone out there has worked for Aflac and failed or is working for them now, your input would be nice.

Answer:
I just started working for Aflac. One of the major problem with AFLAC is their saleforce pretty much saturated the entire market. Most potential accounts will treat you like a used car salesman when you call because there were so many attempts by other reps. I have just checked our district numbers and the most successful salespeople average about $200k -$300K per/year in sales and your take home is only 30%. So it looks like you can potentially make about $60k-$90k per /year after 2-3 years including residuals. Aflac is playing dangerious numbers game right now. It doesn't cost them anything to hire new salespeople and chances are 90% of them will drop out within first few months. Unless you have extensive connections in business world, I think you better off selling used cars.
I worked for Aflac for a short time. They are a good company and I have friends who are doing well with them. It takes time to get your commissions up to a level where you are comfortable living on it. If you are married and spouse is making enough to pay the bills and give you time to build up your commissions it will work. Or if you are single and still live at home and can until you build up the commissions it will also work. If you are planning to make 60-100,000 right away, find something else. I have some friends who are making lots of money with them, but they have been there 5 years or longer and have lots of contacts. If you know lots of small business owners that will let you come in and sell the employees, you can improve your chances of success. Hope this helps.
I agree with the first answer. Unless you have someone to cover your bills until you make some real money, don't even consider it. You're going to get so many no's, and they take up so much of your time, the yeses won't seem like much, and you won't make the money they claim you'll make for the first few years.
