You'll need to contact a local, independent agent to get health insurance quotes.
State Farm..
If you're talking about health insurance, Blue Cross is really good when it comes to purchasing your own insurance. It's not cheap but health insurance is never cheap unless your employer is very generous and wants to pay for some/all of it. There are a lot of different policies and levels of coverage; if you know you'll definitely need maternity coverage, make sure the policy you select has it, and if you're already pregnant, make sure the policy won't exclude that as a pre-existing condition.
You can get better rates if you are a member of a group plan so your husband may want to team up with some other fishermen, create a union or non-operating partnership, and purchase a group policy together. Save some money.
Make sure you are sitting down when you check the rates. It's pretty expensive. you may find cheaper out there but my experience has been that Blue Cross is really good coverage for reasonable rates. Not cheap by any means, but reasonable when compared to other companies.
You can get free quotes here and compare and decide for yourself which plan to take for yourself and hubby,
