How much does Medicaid cover?

We just found out that our son as leukemia and we are on Medicaid. Does anyone know if there is a cap on how much they will spend for the treatment? I just started a new job and we do not have anyother insurance.

Answer:
Medicaid will cover his expenses. You have already qualified, and the only thing that could boot you out of the system is your new job if they offer health care Medicaid can require you to enroll. Although they may have limits in your state, I have lots of clients that have full medical medicaid that covers very catastrophic illnesses and long stays in a nursing home. That is what it is for. Sorry to hear about your son, good luck to you all
It depends on what state you are in. Although this is a federal program, the individual states set many of the guidelines. Contact your state medicaid office. It is the only way to find out.
If you are employed full-time, the govt may cancel your benefits. Medicaid pays 100% of all bills, but only for a limited time. Look into it!
if medicade does cut your benefits there are other programs out there like the shrinners.they do it for free if i am not mistaken
It depends on what state you live in. Here in Ga there are different kinds of medicaid there is a transitional medicaid for people who were out of work but go back to work which you can keep for up to a year before you lose the medicaid due to your new job. Also it is based on income not if you are working or aren't working. There are also different rules for adults vs children. Depending on your sons age he could qualify for medicaid and the adults in the family be taken off. It just depends on how the program is set up in your state. If you keep coverage you should not owe anything for your sons treatment outside of a possible copay which in ga could be from $3 to $12.50 Also in a worse case scenario you do get kicked off of medicaid go to your local hospital and apply for charity. Most hospitals have a charity program for people who can not afford medical services and have no insurance. I have worked in healthcare for 6 years so i have seen a lot of this.
Medicaid will pay
