How do you register vinyl cut lettering when there is more than one colour acurately?
Answer:
I used to work for a company that made vinyl signs, we used to use the 'backing sheet' which was the same size as the mounting board, whether it's PVC or metal, with each coloured layer on (but separate) The backing sheet then gave us an accurate idea as to where the multiple layers of various colours were meant to go.
If this is vague, I'm sorry.
Also, if you are instructing a vinyl sign maker, best way to give them an idea is to e-mail a picture, of which the sign maker can then put into a CAD (computer aided design) package of which will then go to the 'cutter' to cut the right size of vinyl based on the picture the client sent over.
