What is the law concerning meal break in an eight hour shift in the State of Texas?

Employer is stating that two fifteen minute breaks will constitute the lunch hour and is docking pay for thirty minutes

Answer:
check your local labor laws you are supposed to receive a 1 hour lunch and at least a 15 minute break.
in florida our meal breaks are 30 minutes every five hours we get a 10 minute break
Check your local laws, but it's my understanding that in an 8 hour shift, you're allowed one 30 minute lunch break and 2 15 minute breaks. You're allowed 15 minute breaks for every 4 hours you work and if you work 6 hours, you're allowed a lunch break. That's the way it is here inTN anyway.
I checked 2 sites which did not include Texas as having their own laws written out. They may, just not on these sites so check with your labor board. The first site is for rest periods and the second is for lunch. I believe your employer automatically deducting without you getting the straight 30 minutes is somehow illegal. Good Luck
