How do YOU keep that drive to keep trying to excel at what you do in life?

Ok. So I am a poor college student desperately trying to make money like everyone else in this world. I can come up with good ideas to make money and I get myself excited about it, but then with my busy schedule, I find it hard to pursue these ideas. How do YOU keep that baloon of self esteem inflated so that you can ultimately excel at what you want to set out to do?

Answer:
If you pursue a self serving objective it will work against you, you need to find something you really like (I agree with the passion - this is key!), then make sure you do it with an attitude to serve others by doing it well. Enjoy what you do an dlook for ways to excel on it (on this read a book called "FLOW").
Money should be a biproduct. Good luck
You have to have a passion for what you do. It is easy to lose sight of something if you can't look forward to it everyday. Find your passion. Then find a way to make money with it! Good Luck!
By regularly reviewing and re-assessing your goals and strategies. It is always possible that you won't know enough about what you want to do until you start trying to do it. At that point, you might need to pause and remember your goals and ask yourself whether your actions are getting you closer to those goals or not, or whether your goals may have changed. Or maybe you will just want to refine your strategies. Remember this one thing: your best efforts at anything require your full commitment and your continued conscious efforts. Schedule time for you to reflect on what you want and what you are doing to get it and make adjustments as needed. Even if that sometimes means abandoning a previous plan because it isn't working. It's easier to walk away from something before you put a lot of time and energy into it and if you regularly think about what you are doing, it is easier to make those important decisions. Just look, assess, ask yourself if your plan is still valid but needs a little refinement or what.
My best advice is to know what type of work you think is worth devoting your life to and then take some kind- any kind of work in that field without making money the primary objective. Once you know that you have made a start in your chosen field, then you can do something on the side for cash without feeling unfocused.
