I am an engineer that is bringing some equipment in house. I want to have the machinery painted black to hide dirt. My boss said it is not a standard color and will not allow it, unless i can find pictures of other machines, installed in major manufactures, that have been painted black. Please post links of suck pictures.
thanks!
Answer:
You can do a web search on Yahoo for IMAGES with the word "machinery" and find lots of pictures of machinery, some black. However, black does not hide dirt well. A lot of dirt is light gray, and shows up on black machinery. I would suggest gray.
You really do not want to arbitrarily assign the color black to machinery for no other reason than to "hide dirt".
I have never worked in a facility where that would have been acceptable. Most facility have standard colors for all of their machines and it would be ideal to stick with those colors.
Normally, a green/blue color, red, tan, yellow, and gray.
