I got a check in the mail that looks legit.?

from a Texas LTD from Wachovia Bank. No return address, sizeable amount, post mark RIGA-50. Should I cash it?

Answer:
It is probably fake. Take it to your bank or a Wachovia bank and let them rule it out. This has been going on alot around Texas.
its a fake .
have you ever heard about this so called company?? i bet not. SCAM FRAUD turn it over the your local post office
No, most likely a scam. some banks may cash it if you have an account, but when the check comes back fake, you have to cover the cost. Even if your account goes into a negative balance.

You will see a lot of these fake checks on ebay.com or craigslist.org.
GO TO YOUR BANK AND ASK IF YOU SHOULD..THATS WHAT I DO WHENEVER SOMETHING LIKE THAT COMES IN THE MAIL FOR ME
NO! read the fine print on the back. It is like a contractual thing. once you cash it you agree tobuy something, be a part of something or something similar.

No money that comes to you this easliy is legitmate.
i would take it to the bank and tell them what happened get them to take a look at it..if they say it's ok then hell ya free money
If it was a real check then there would be a return address on
the check. Go to www.consumeraffairs.com
They had a scam alert about these types of checks. Turn the entire envelope and contents over to your local Post Office.
Take it to the bank and see if good cash it but don't put into you account take it to the bank it was wrote on.
can't hurt to try
Hey Judge P.
Your very welcome for the ten points.
About yous check. There are pros and cons. First and for most is the con being that if cashed it may bounce if its not real and that would cost you between 30 and 50 big ones. But if you don't mind taking a chance i would. I think that you can go to any LTD bank to see if the money is there and it is cash-able. They will help you find out what its for. From my point of view it wouldn't hurt. So good luck and i hope you have a fat wallet in due time.
