What is the most irritating thing your boss has said to you or asked you to do?
Answer:
GOOD MORNING

Between Sweeping cob webs and been told to wash the petrol pumps and windows on a cold winters day, when every1 else said no ah sure i was the only sado who would, but then again i quit!

My old boss where I used to work once asked me to walk a plastic fried egg on a piece of string up and down the corridoor. Needless to say I refused.
My boss is very keen on the "chain of command", so if her boss wants some figures she passes the request on to me.
I then work up the numbers, present them to her boss who says "That's not what I want, this is what I want." And I do the whole bloody thing again because she is paranoid about him communicating directly & cutting her out !
This has happened 5 or 6 times now.its beginning to wear me out.
"Your workload is like a piece of tinfoil stretched out very long. If you're feeling stressed about your workload you simply have to screw it up and put it in your paocket and then you won't feel stressed anymore" (He then refused to discuss my enormous load any more!!)
He also loved to say "Perception is reality" which I think was his way of saying he was right!
One made me sit through a five hour meeting as he didn't know how to work the wireless mouse as it looked different from his normal mouse.
Everyday Question : "So whats going on?"
My boss has a habit of making up rules or changing procedures one week, the next week you'll be found following these rules / procedures and he'll ask you why your doing it that way! When you tell him that he told you to do it, he Deny's it! EVERY TIME!!
My boss is always calling me into his office for something trivial, he makes it sound as if the world is coming to an end if it does'nt get done in the next nano second. Usually I have to type minutes of meetings, which isn't even remotely close to my job description.
When my assistant left, and wasn't replaced! So I had twice as much work to do! I resigned shortly afterwards.
I work in a builders merchant and we had a boss who made me use a 5m tape measure to measure the perimeter of the yard and then the size of the warehouse- t w a t!
The fat , cheeky old fecker actually had the nerve to ask me to work as opposed to surfing the net, answering silly questions andn looking at porn!! I mean,, what a cheek!
You'll be working christmas day, boxing day, late shifts and by the way your working late on new years eve and early shift new years day.
Can you train this guy to do your job, he needs to know everthing you know....
At 5:29 on a Friday afternoon "remembered" a really urgent presentation that was needed for 9:00 Monday morning and then made me do it thus depriving me of the weekend. Wanker !
Luckily I've quit and now my boss just buys me coffee and lets me get on with things :)
I was trying to learn everything my boss knew so I could get the same job she had at a different company, so I had to put up w/alot of you-know-what while I was learning from her. She kept bringing her family's mending to me and dumping it on my desk. I would mend it and bring it back. When I learned everything I needed and got the job I wanted, she had just brought the pants that belonged to her "evening suit" with the seat ripped out. I knew she was wearing them to a special country club even for her husband's office party, so I sewed the tiniest seam you have ever seen - just enough so she could get in and out of the car and maybe get up once to dance, then the back side rip out on her.
Then I packed my desk and left!
Phoned me at home at 9:00pm and made me come into work straight away to set up a remote link to another network, so that a visiting boss from another site could check his email that very same evening instead of simply waiting until I came into work in the morning and asking me to sort it out then.
My boss seems to be happy to spend his own evenings and weekends working, which is fine by me, but when he gets an I.T. problem he seems to think I'll be happy to drop whatever I'm doing with my free time to come and fix it.
Asked me to fix his computer ASAP then won't let me get to it while because he wants to sit down in his office to make a phone call on his mobile phone.
Another "boss" constantly reminds me to do the next cleaning job I'm going to do, while I'm trying to do the current job.
What's up? Do you have any good news to tell to me?
Nothing - my boss is lovely!
