How do you see a watermark on the back of a check or something along those lines?
Answer:
Hold it up to the light is one way. Another way is to hold it at an angle. They even have warmth sensitive marks. Those you rub with your fingers or blow on.
Good LUCK!
point it up to the light and you will see the shadow of the watermark.
Hold it up flat, like you are holding a dinner plate, with the back side facing up. Kind of tilt it back and forth you should see a faint pattern or words or something - that's the water mark. Sometimes you can also see it if you hold it up to the light.
The signature microprint line means that the line where the check is signed is not actually a line, but tiny words printed. Look closely and you should see it. You may need a magnifying glass.
As for taking it to the bank without knowing for sure --- banks want to protect themselves and you from fraud. Tellers are trained to pick up on items that are phony. If you have any doubt whatsoever, just ask the teller to call the issuing bank and verify that it's a good item. That's their job. Don't feel funny asking them!
You should be able to see it with a black light. It should say
original document written across the cheque.
