When using Microsoft Excel how do I look up a saved file by file number and/or name?

I work in a lwyers office and soemtimes a client will call from years ago and we of course do not remember file numbers off hand so we search through binders of clients names to look up their file # to go and find their file. But now it's 2006 and we want to put it on the computer and be able to look up the file # or by name or by which case they are like personal injury, divorce, bankruptcy.

Answer:
From the Start menu, select Search, then select For Files or Folders. It will then prompt you to enter the name of the files or folders to search for.

Going forward, name the files to something that will be searchable - the last name is usually a safe bet.
i suggest u put it according to date as the client will certainly remember the date and if u put it according to the name there might be many people of the same name
