Transco informed I have a usable gas supply, it just needs to be turned on in the road. How can I arrange this

This needs to be done quickly. My gas supplier insists I need a new service but I cannot wait that long.

Answer:
Have you just moved into this Property? and was it turned off for Non Payment by previous Owner or Tenants? also has the Meter been Removed or just turn off and capped?

Or has there been a Major Gas Leak in the Property or outside past your Gate ? if it is from the Road it's the responsibility of Transco, unless they have changed the Rules!! it used to be that anything relating to Gas ,Electricity or Water within your Boundary was your responsibility and you had to pay, outside your Boundry was the Utilitys .

.

Get back to your Supplier and tell them you cannot wait and you need something done ASAP especially if you have Children.

I have never heard of a Supplier telling a Customer that they have got to contact Transco, they are taking you on and should be sorting it all out for you I would have thought.

Ever since Privatisation the Gas and Electricity Industry has gone to Pot,had there still been Showrooms,it would have all been sorted by Showroom Staff.
Phone a gas company, they will put it on ASAP so they can charge you money.
But it's your gas supplier -- NPower or any of the others -- who is supposed to get your gas turned on.

You are responsible, though, for the last few meters of pipe, from the main to your kitchen or boiler.
Arrange a contract with a supplier and Transco will turn on the tap. If you don't know which supplier to use, go to www.uswitch.com
ring tranco and they will come turn it on for you.
CALL THEM AND HAVE THEM DO IT LIKE YESTERDAY .
You need to contact transco and they will install a service pipe and a gas meter. They are a bunch of fcuking rip off merchants and will charge you an absolute fortune. I had a gas meter installed with one metre of service pipe and it cost nearly £400.

Then they left all the mess in the hall of my house and done a runner.
