n who lost is bankrupt and in jail for a long time. He won't be able to pay. So my question is ? What can I do too get some return. Can I sell the debt to some one who in turn could use it for tax benefits or something to that effect.

Sometimes they can make money while in jail so if he does that you will get the money. Also if he gets money for any reason you will get it.
