A company emailed me concerning my online resume, How can I be sure they are legit?

I have heard of it and it is a scam! Don't do it!
SCAM. Their check will bounce, and they will have your information and clear out your account.

you will cash the check, send them 90% of the money, then you realize the check didn't clear, so your bank deducts the cash you withdrew from your account and you are out of luck.
This is a common scam, ask yourself why would anyone do this, if they were legit, they could take their own check to their own bank and get 100% of the money, why would they give you 10%
Its tough to search for jobs online, I went through it recently. If a legit company contacts you, they should be willing to talk to you on the phone and set up an in-person interview, especially if they are local. Never give you're social security number until you are hired and filling out tax forms, legit businesses know they cannot require it beforehand and will respect your efforts to protect yourself-it shows responsibility which is the first sign of a good employee.
Whatever you do, DO NOT cash those fraudulent checks. even if you never send them the money, they can trace the check and get your bank account info.
