Is it cheaper to ship two small boxes or one big box when shipping multiple items?

Here is the deal, I have a lot of stuff to ship. I could ship it in about 10 zerox boxes... or three big boxes. The weight is obviously going to be the same, but I would think that they would charge more for a bigger box(24x24x18). Can someone help me out? I would call UPS, but I am trying to start packing some of this stuff tonight.

Answers:
UPS charges by weight, no difference about size of package unless it exceeds a certain length etc. I use UPS on a regular basis. Also, here is a calculator.
