Why does the price of soft Drinks?
Answer:
Remember, it's the stores that set the final price. Soft drinks will bring customers into the store in the summer, because people buy so many of them then. The soft drinks are then "loss leaders." The store makes little or no profit on that item, but while you are there, you also purchase lots of other things, and that's where the profit is. Store often do this--have sales on just a few items in order to lure you in.
Good luck!!
Competition is the only thing that ever lowers a price.
Companies figure that if they can get drinkers to try their brand during the summer season then those drinkers might stick with them even during the winter when the price doubles.
They lower the price but you can guarentee they'rw still making a good profit.
Its got to be competition, more people will buy the drinks, its a win win situation for the companies involved.
There is a very fierce rivalry between Coke and Pepsi. Each trying to protect market share. However, I have not noticed that soft drink prices tend to be seasonal. I have noticed that in the supermarkets, there is frequently promotions on soda pop.
Now me, I buy whichever is currently on sale, either Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper. Most generally it is one or the other.
