In the business world, in an office environment, how appropriate is it to lock your office door?

If you are not in HR, or in a confidential meeting, or working on a extremely tight deadline, how appropriate is it. Opinions count but data or links would be more appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:
Merely shutting the door is sufficient to inform visitors that you do not wish to be disturbed. Why would you need to lock the door? What's going on in there?
Depends if you are screwing your secretary or not.
I only lock mine when my secretary is in the office taking dicktation . Other than that it is always open .
