What is the best way to find a qualified subcontractor in the construction field?

I have used the Blue book and I was wondering if there is another good source for finding construction subcontractors?

Answers:
Local Chamber of Commerce, OR NARI- (National association of remodelers)
One good way is to locate a housing development being done by an established builder or developer.
Locate the appropriate trade if he's on site.
If he's not, call the office and find out who's doing that particular work. (Don't ask any other questions) Reason this works is that a good contractor always uses good subs. Shy away from cheap or tract homes, their bottom line is money, and the subs reflect it.
In your case, you want both a decent price, and good quality.
I know this works because I do it...
