I just received a gold quarter last week, which I found in a roll of quarters from the bank. It was supposed to go in my cash register at work, but I bought it with some nickels from my pocket and now its mine.
Its raining outside, and the darn thing is in my car, but I will take a pic of it and send it to you if you like, to see if we have the same thing. i do not remember the year written on it, but I noticed it has no "mint" on it, which would be a small engraved letter showing which city the coin was printed in.
Also, it seems kinda soft and hsa a lot of missing detail, like the lines in George Washington's hair for instance. It almost seems like someone took a regular quarter and coated it with something, except that would have at least left a bump where the "mint" used to be.
I don't think this thing is solidly colored either becasue my girlfriend stomped it on the street - don't ask - and now there is some grey showing through to whatever metal is beneath.
