A clients' wife has recently passed away.?
Answer:
really, a sympathy note is most appropriate.
If you knew his wife's interests, a charity donation in her name is OK.
If you live in the deep south (USA) gifts of food - like casseroles -are considered appropriate in the week or two after the death.
A gift doesn't really "fit" with a death. IMHO
That is sad sorry. Flowers are always appropriate just put something thoughtful on the card something in a crystal vase not the florists type. That would be both professional and caring. If you were a neighbor then sending meals over would be helpful at this time of decision and sadness. I wish I had a better suggestion.
Hope that helped, Take Care

Dear ,
This is not a very good time for sending gift..I feel.
gift? why do u people send gifts when someone diers. ?? isnt it good enough to go there. and say ure sorry.. rather than gifting someonme.. ?? anyways. send anything, if that makes u happy.
That's sad. A really nice sympathy card would suffice. If you know any interests they were involved in then you could give a donation in her name. Often the obituary in the newspaper will say where they want any donations sent, look there and make a generous donation.
Help him to get new wife.
