The answer to hundreds of questions: Free Credit Report?

When I say free, I mean free... no cost, no trial periods, free credit report. You are entitled to one free credit report a year.

In addition, you are also entitled to a free copy of your credit report if you've been denied credit, insurance, or employment and request the report within 60 days of notice, or if you can prove that (1) you're unemployed and plan to look for a job within 60 days, (2) you're on welfare, or (3) your report is inaccurate because of fraud.

http://annualcreditreport.com is the correct site. It was set up by the credit burueas so that you can receive your free report. You have to go through and request all three separately though. Also, they ask security questions that might be tough to answer for some people such as #s of some of your past accounts etc.
