I received an app. in the mail for a credit card, filled out info online, and received a letter in the mail saying could not be processed with an altered name, yet the letter had my correct name on it...is their a website I can go to for help on this situation...this letter makes me look bad. I have never altered my name on anything. the only thing I can think of is the app. was in my old married name and I put it in my new name which on the app. it says to make all applicable changes to name and address...
Answers:
If altered name is the only reason why you were declined, then you should give the credit card company a call and find out what you can do to prove that the application that you submitted was you. If you legally changed your last name back to your maiden name, then provide the credit card company with the legal document. Good luck.
