Help me dispute this bill.?
Answer:
Start by reading the links below.
The first responder is wrong (as usual). When you send a dispute letter to the credit bureau, all they do is contact the creditor and ask if it's a valid debt. If the creditor responds back that it's valid, the listing stays on your credit report. Note that the credit bureau does NOT investigate anything, they just verify the entry to make sure they didn't put it on the wrong account.
You need to send EACH of the creditors a letter demanding that the "validate" the debt. They must respond back with copies of contracts, bills, receipts, and everything they used to calculate what they claim you owe.
At this time the are already in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act for reporting your debt twice (the creditor and collection agency). If they don't drop one of them, you can sue them for $1000.
Just read the links, and if you still have questions contact me.
Just the credit agencies. They will send a copy of the dispute to the collection company and the other one. Those companies have so long to provide proof of claim to the bad credit report. If no dispute from the comapnmies, it will be closed on your report.
how many years ago was that? after 7 yrs your free
After you dispute it with the credit card company, you need to contact the source that has originally charged you and straighten it out with them. Usually the credt card company can provide you with a number to contact the source that is responsible for the charges. Call them and ask them.
