When potential employers run credit checks as part of the background check, does it lower your credit rating?

Answer:
Not necessarily. Most of these produce what's called a "soft hit" meaning it distinguishes that you're not looking for credit.
Employment checks on your credit are not supposed to impact your credit score.
Employers checks can't affect your credit score. The same goes for mortgage companies now. Only consumer credit can affect your score.
Nope. But the company they used will show up as an inquiry, which is why they need ALL of your information, AND a signature.
