Is it possible to get someone elses social insurance number by mistake?
Answer:
not ..really
i dont think so
Saying that you have "thousands of dollars worth of credit" sounds like a good thing. If instead they said you had thousands of dollars of DEBT, that would be bad. It might mean that someone else is using YOUR number - basically, identity theft. In the USA there are laws that let you check your credit for free, once a year. And by law if you are turned down for credit then you also receive a copy of your credit report.
YES! That has happened to me. If ONE person enters the number incorrectly it will follow you for life and cause a LOT of problems.
It sounds to me like you have a problem with identity theft. You need to follow the procedures that Equifax tells you to follow to appeal your rating and file the proper paperwork, etc.
you keep asking these questions over and over again. waiting for a different response?
contact Equifax, ask to see your report, and then write a letter disputing the problem
It may be possible that someone else is using yours. Is your credit good? Contact SSN.
most likely someone stole your identy, you must report this
