American Expess Gift Card (paypal)?

I have read about American Express Gift cards being able to be used on Paypal but it doesn't work for me. I tried adding the gift card as a American Express credit card but it was rejected. Does the gift card REALLY work with paypal?

Yes Visa/MasterCard/AE gift cards can be used online but need address verification at most web sites. This is why the American Express may not work. Sometimes you can have the gift card company add your name address and phone number to your card. Some gift cards are not reloadable. Sometimes you need to wait a day or two before you can use the card online. Just for others you can use a debit card with a Mastercard/Visa symbol for paypal verification and some gift cards can also work if they have address verification. Paypal always authorizes $1.00 on top of any purchase. This will be removed in about 8 days
American Ex has not cleared all the bugs. I had the same problem. Try going direct to credit card payments. Paypal is slow.
