Answer:
Using a prepaid Mastercard changed my life : you don't spend what you don't have !
Good luck !
cancel all your credit cards pronto.
keep yourself occupied from going to shop, cut the credit cards, and so on
Use internet banking, set up "Billpay", and pay as soon as you get paid (direct deposit). How's that sound?
Keep it in your pants Lance!
Settle down and grow up. Stay in your apt and just drink beer and eat a frozen pizza sometimes. Moderate yourself!
Go to one of the many consumer credit counseling services. They are low cost/no cost and usually non-profits. Their focus is on giving you a plan to get your financial life in order. That may involved cutting up some credit cards, but don't assume that at this point.
But don't wait until you have huge credit card debts or collection agencies coming after you.
Type "consumer credit counseling" into Google and you will see many options. Find one that has a local office and go to it.
Well what i would do is that lets say your bills would be 500 and your paycheck is 900. Then i would pay the 500 and put an extra 100 away. Put this 100 away and never use it. Its like a savings. This 100 everypay check will open up many oppertunities later. If you need any money for rent later u can use those 100's that you have been saving. So later you dont have to worry that much about having to pay the bills because you will have that little savings stash.
You need to cut your expenses and earn extra income.

Can you afford to see an accountant or other type of financial adviser who can help you set up a plan that you can stick to?
Someone answered that you should cancel all your credit cards. Find out what effect that will have on your credit rating before you do that.
I know what you mean about wanting to treat yourself on payday. Try to find a way to reward yourself that is cheap. Plan something fun to do in advance every pay day. Make plans with your friends to play basketball or something every pay day after work.
There is a book called "The Millionaire Next Door" that you might find helpful.
Also consider a career change or asking for a raise.
You need to sit down and make a budget list. Write all the bills you have (include food) and when they need to be paid by. Then write down how much income you have each month. Subtract the two. The money you have left over is what you can spend on other things. Bills have to come FIRST. If you are always late on paying them, it will affect your credit. Once that is damaged, you won't be able to get any loans, like for a new car or house. Everytime you want to buy something you DON'T NEED just remind yourself about your life and where you live now. Do you really want to be stuck there forever or would you rather save that money for your own house? If that doesn't work, think to yourself, are you single? If you are, then you'll probably stay that way because no one will want someone who doesn't have goals or any money and a lot of debt. That works for me, then I end up not buying whatever it is I was looking at. Good luck and hope you quit your compulsive buying!
have your check put into your checking account by your employer, then have those bills taken out electronically, that way you don't even see your pay check and are not tempted to sped it. also have your employer take out so much of your paycheck and put it into a savings account. then allow yourself an allowance and write a check for cash in that amount. once that money is gone don't spend more. also don't use your credit cards, leave them in a drawer at home and only use them for an emergency, if you have them in your wallet then you will want to use them
If you don't have the cash to pay for it. the CASH.don't buy it. Simple as that. If you run out of money, you won't do that anymore now will you?
Do direct deposit so your paycheck goes straight into your bank account. Also carry a credit card with a small balance so you don't buy anything expensive on impulse. The best thing to do is come up with a budget so you know how much your expenses are. Whatever is leftover, you should move in a savings account and then after awhile, you can reward yourself if you stay on budget and pay your bills on-time. Having a friend keeping you accountable on your use of money will help also.
Go see a Financial Counselor and get yourself on a budget. Do it now or you could very well ruin your future.
