620 Credit score?
Answer:
You are not doing bad for your age. In fact, it sounds like you have already established some great habits for staying in control of your credit. Credit score is calculated partly from how long your accounts have been open. If you are nineteen, then your accounts are probably no more than a couple years old. If you continue in this track, then you should find that your credit score does rise with age. I don't really see a benefit to having a gas credit card. It's just one more bill to manage.
that's pretty low. you should check your credit report. that doesn't sound right.
620 will get you a gas credit card but you should have a much higher score . You had to have some problems cause that is not a great score . 720-800 is a great score .
620 is what I have and I'm 24. Thats great for your age. I would advise against a gas card. The limits are typically low $200 or so. In order for your score to go up you wanna keep under 30% utilization. That would be $60 on a $200. Thats why gas cards stink.. the interest is ually high too. Get some history on your cards and you can get 5K credit cards through citi or chase.
That score seems low, even though you keep your credit cards in good standing, it could be low because of the short amount of time you have had credit. All the gas cards I have seen have outrageous interest rates, and the limits are very low to start, it may not be worth it to get one.
For your age that's very good. Many people your age haven't even established any credit. Keep doing what you're doing--pay off your cards every month and pay your loans on time. The longer you do this, the more your score creeps up. Try not to apply for any more credits cards, even store or gas cards. That will bring it down and you have to work back up again.
