How much do I have to owe for medical bills so that collections would take me to the court?

Answers:
Collections departments can take you to court for any amount of a bill. They don't really concern themselves with the cost, as if they win, you will be liable for court costs as well. You'd be best advised to try and work out some payment arrangement with them so that it doesn't effect your credit.
one dollar..if they wish
So you actually think that just because your Dr. referred you to another Dr., that you should not have to pay the bill?

What is this world coming to? No one wants to be responsible for their own actions anymore.

Now to answer your question. Any amount they want to. Because if they win and they normally do, you will be liable for all of the cost including court and lawyers.
