When I ask for an increase on a Macy's card and got denied?
Answers:
This depends on the type of inquiry Macy's made on your credit report. Most of the time this will depend on the time frame your account has been opened and the amount your are requesting for a credit increase. The best rule of thumb is to never ask lenders to increase your limit. Let them do it for you. If you pay on time with no late payments and pay the balance in full every time you get a statement for 6 months to a year your credit limit will triple and you will not even have to ask for it. Only way to know what type of inquiry they pulled (ie. soft or hard) is to get a copy of your credit report with the agency they used to make the denial. This agencies name should be listed on the letter they sent stating you where declined. If no agency name is listed (i.e. experian, equifax)
then the decison was based only on your account history with Macy's and not your credit report at all.
The denial didn't actually lower your score...but having inquiries on your credit bureaus will decrease your score for a period of time. You want to keep the inquiries to a minimum.be choosy on how many accounts you are trying to open. Having a lot of revolving credit (credit cards) with higher balances open has a tendency to lower it as well.
No. That wont effect your score at all.
Unless they pulled your credit score agian.Which I doubt they did. And even so, it will be very minimal.
Not at all.
This is whats called a soft pull, if they even pulled your credit again. Soft pulls do not cost you any points.
