Capital One Cardholders: Credit Limit Account Review.. when is it?
Answer:
You had sent me an email about charge offs and taxes and I was unable to send you an email so I found you this way.. SORRY Oh Capital one does reviews about every six months and they are random as far as they have told me. You will get a notice in the mail when thay have increased your limit. If you have too many cards out or any bad credit since you got the card they wont review your account till they see positive history for a long period of time.
Generally if a debt a taxpayer owes is canceled aka charged off or forgiven they must include the canceled amount in THEIR income. If the debt is a non business debt, report the canceled amount on FORM 1040 Line 21. If it is a business debt report the amount on Schedule C (profit and loss from a business) You as the taxpayer should recieve FORM 1099-C CANCELLATION OF DEBT so long as it is for 600 or more. The amount of canceled debt is shown in FORM 1099-C BOX 2. Let me know if ths helps. I do taxes during the season let me know if you have any more questions.
I think end of the year
I want to say every 6 months or every year. I don't really remember what they told me. I don't really understand why they are not giving you the increase if your history is good. Some of their cards have a limit as to how high they can increase your limit. like a cutoff. Did you ask to talk to an account specialist or just customer service? They should be able to tell you how often it is.
In about six month be patient it will come
Capital One has never raised my limit in the two years I've been with them. But about a year and a half later, they sent me a pre-approved offer to apply for another account. I applied and was approved for $5000.
I opened up a Cap 1 Plantinum card in May, I've had on time payments since then. I started off with a $300 credit limit, I just paid my September's bill and my credit limit was increased to $500. I called customer service and they told me that Cap 1 does period reviews, which is every 3 months. This is the time frame most credit card companies increase your credit limit.
