Aggressive Creditor?

I've been receiving phone calls from a particular creditor who is being overly aggressive, what can I say to this person (legally) that will let them know I will not tolerate such tactics? I would like to be prepared with something sounding half way intelligent the next time I get a call from this creditor.Thank You:)

I was told by a lawyer years ago when I was contmeplating filing bankruptcy that if you pay any amount no matter how small you are still paying. It might not be what they want and you damage your credit but any payment should suffice. If they contianue to harass you write down dates and times.

Also, check out the website I lsited below for further answers.
First, record the calls, let the collector know you are recording the call, state the date and time for the recording. Ask for the name of the collector, id number if applicable, the name of the collection agency he is calling from, the billing address for the collection agency, the name of the original creditor. Ask why they are calling. If he is rude and abusive, you will have it on tape and this type of collection activity is illegal no matter where you live.
You would first complain to the Fair Trade Commission in your area, providing a written statement and a copy of the recording. Find the FTC in your area on the net and go to their website, it will be very useful and will answer a lot of your questions.
1. there must be a reason why a creditor is calling you. Did you pay all your bills? What would be YOUR reaction of someone doesn't pay YOU??

2. let him know that you don't accept his tactic!
You can view the fair debt collection practices by law below, and if you are being harassed by a collection agent or creditor it gives you a phone number to report them to the FTC.
haaaaang up get attorney document the harrasement and sue. know your rights!
