Question about American Express card...?

I have an American Express "Clear" card. Basically for every $2,500 I spend, they are supposed to send me a $25 AmEx gift card. My question is...what purchases are 'counted'? Getting gas? Groceries? Or is it just $2,500 of any type of charges on the card? Thanks...

Answers:
"1. Shopping cards are issued by American Express Incentive Services L.L.C., and are subject to additional Terms and Conditions. Shopping cards expire one year from the date of issuance. Cash and cash equivalent transactions and purchases (including balance transfers, convenience checks, and cash advances), finance charges, and purchase credit adjustments are not eligible for earning rewards. gosh! I don't know but that sure isn't a good deal if you have to purchase that much to get a $25 gas card or gift card!
What a rip off!
Go to amex.com and find your card details.
I have a blue cash AMEX, and every purchase counts. I am pretty sure if you make any purchases it should count.
Pending amounts which are pending authorizations, the merchant you spent your money at charged AMEX company, and they are verifying/posting the transaction. They always occur whenever you buy something. It's not like a debit card, where your money is automatically (instantaneously) taken out of your account. Pending authorizations usually last 1, or at most 2 days. Pending authorizations do not count as part of the points your are earning for your purchase. They must clear first.
Apart from no annual fee feature of the American Blue Express it also gives cash returns on specific purchases. Users of the American Blue Express also enjoy protection against fraud for online credit card transactions. This card tries to right the various wrong notions about the American Express credit cards, one of which is that it is a credit card only for rich or those who have money to keep a credit card.
