I have judgements by a unsecure credit card. Can they do this to me?
Answer:
they sure can
then they will freeze your bank account or garnish your wages
Yep. You borrowed money and didn't pay it back. You're better off paying the judgement, than to have them garnish your wages if you don't.
Of course they can, and you used the money so you can't get out of it. Grow up.
Kinda mean aren't they. Who'd have thought it.
Positively. Did you use the money? If yes pay it back. Everyone else pays for your dishonesty in higher banking fees and rates.
If you don't pay it, they legally have the right to come after you for as long as the statute of limitations holds. In most states that's 4-5 years. The biggest problem in your case is the interest rate they will tack on and the fact that it will go against your credit record negatively and be on there for 7 years.
If you are insolvent, file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. If you can pay, then pay. No such thing as a free lunch. No one ever said you are entitled to anything!
A smart creditor will locate your bank account and seize the funds (and they should). You owe the money.
Yes, they can.
If you did not pay your bill and they sued you and secured a judgment, they can take the next step and begin to garnish your wages, bank account or register on title to your property. The best thing to do is pay the judgment before they go further, or make arrangements in writing for regular payments (plus reasonable interest) until the payments are finished.
did you even go to court, that is what you should of done. then you can work out a reasonable payment plan made by the judge not the creditor. I would be better than a wage garnisment.
