How can reestablish credit after doing 12 years in prison?
Answer:
Do you have any credit scores at all? If you don't know, get a copy of your report. If you do have scores, you may be able to qualify for a normal credit card or car loan.
Get a secured credit card. You deposit an amount in a savings account and your card credit limit equals what's in the bank. After a few months of paying it off on time, you should be able to get a regular credit card.
A couple of things to keep in mind with a Secured Credit Card
SECURED CREDIT CARD
To obtain a secured credit card, you must open and maintain a savings account as security for your line of credit.
Important: Be sure your lender reports secured credit card usage to credit bureaus before you apply for the card. If your lender does not do so, you will not be building the positive credit history that will help you obtain credit in the future.
Your credit line is a percentage of your deposit.
These cards may charge higher interest rates than unsecured cards.
You may have to pay an annual fee for a secured credit card
The other option you may have would be to also try to open up a small store card, with a small limit and do the same thing with using it in small amounts, and repaying it on time.
the best and the easiest way to do this is open a account and borrow money from the bank. borrow like $150 but make sure you have more than than that in the account. so what they gonna do is freeze $150 of your money in the account. as you pay each month that much will be open for you in your account. at the bank your intrest will be pretty low. lower than credit cards and lower than a loan office. your payment will be so low you can pay like double the amount each month it up to you. pay it off in the least of 6 months or more will help you or anybody boost up your credit. and it will show on your credit report but please do not be late with the payment. that why i suggest paying double at times for your protection. this can open doors. depending on your bad credit your weclome to do this again. go and apply for something but make sure that you want credit with this place and its pretty easy to get credit there. he or she gonna reweiw your credit right there in your face ask them may i see that paperwork of your credit history. believe me its will be there showing your payments history, you paying it off on time and you credit score. if they dont show you just ask for your credit score.(plus you get good standing with your bank.)
