Yes a person who is younger than 18 can be an AU.
If you become an AU on your dads card you will recieve the full history of the account, as long as the creditor reports the account on your reports. Most creditors do report AU's and most will report without it being requested.
It's always best to request that they report at the time that you are being added.
As long as your dad keeps the account in good standing, no lates and low utilization, you will benefit from being an AU.

Being authorized is simply what it states...credit history is not passed along. Honestly, you may want to read up on credit and how it works before you jump right in. Credit is a major thing. It dosen't take much to ruin it, and could take forver to repair it.and unless you are rolling in the dough and don't really need it.it can controll alot of things in your life...the car you drive, the house you buy, the jobs you get, so on and so forth...so be careful..knowledge is power. Authorized users receive the full credit history on their credit bureau the very next month after they are added.
As long as you dad keeps his balances below 30% of his limit and pays as agreed you will get full credit on your bureau.
