Can I use a debit card in Seoul to make purchases and withdraw cash?

Answers:
They do take debit cards. If the debit card have the MasterCard or Visa symbol most merchants will take those cards.

Just call your bank to make sure your card will work there.

Tip, If you take some Korean money, not cards you can barter clothes and maybe other items. Depending on the store. I heard this on the travel channel.
You can use ATM's but stores won't accept a foreign debit card
I did it when I was in Germany. I think that all MasterCard and Visa cards let you do that. I guess AmEX does too. It would be best to check with the company that issued the card. They might be able to give the exact location of ATMs in Seoul.
