How long will it take for activity to show up on my credit report?

You know, my bank issued me a credit card that I did not ask for, and it showed up RIGHT away (that day). Call your credit card company and ask.
If you activate your card and using it, you should call amex and ask are they reporting,
some credit card companies dont report if you are not the main card holder or if you didn't start to use your card
That is quite amazing. Usually, you would have the balance reported every month! You should actually contact the credit reporting agency you got the report from. If you look at the end of each of the reports, it tells you where to report problems or add more information that is missing! Good luck!
sometimes the companies dont report things to the credit bureau.never assume they do! u may have to call the bureau and have it reported or contact amex to have them report it!
creditors are obligated to report activity within 60 days, but generally update around the 30 day timeframe.
8 months is unusual. you should contact AmEx and ensure that they have the correct social security number and personal information on file for you.
