This is the site that was set up in response to the government requirements a couple of years ago that made it law that all three credit reporting agencies must make a completely free report available to you once per year.
I use the site to access one report about every four months - on from TransUnion at the start of the year, Experian a few months later, and then Equifax a few months after that. It thus allows me to keep close tabs on my credit throughougt the year for free.
BEWARE: Some other websites, such as www.freecreditreport.com require you to sign up (and pay for!) other services to qualify for your free report. The free report is just a scam to garner more business.
