How do i clear my credit and how do I know who to pay?
Answer:
There IS a way to clear your credit, but it takes time and patience
check out this website:
creditboards.com
Also, if you dont have time to do it yourself, try Lexington lawfirm. They got 6 things deleted from my credit!
What ever you do.DONT pay it off unless they agree in writing that they will delete the collection off of your credit report.
If you pay the bill, it will still report LATE, but it will say PAID AS AGREED, so it will still be neg. onyour credit. it will NOT boost your credit score.
There is no such thing as clearing your credit. If you have debt that you have defaulted on it wont be removed from the credit report. You can rebuild your credit by making a settlement with creditors and any new credit you get make the payments on time.
You cant "clear your credit". What you need to do is pay everthing current and keep it that way. You need to pay down any high balances. and you need to maintain paying your bills on time. Otherwise its a lengthy process and it sucks!
If you mean you want to pay old/defaulted debts, you should pull your credit report. It will show all debts ON RECORD (it does not include those debts that no one has reported).
If you have not gotten your report for free this year and you live in the US, go to www.freeannualreport.com. you can get all 3 reports for free once a year-- this is the ONLY site that is 100% free-- the government requires it.
At the end should be all the numbers/addresses for all accounts on record.you can contact them from there.
pay off your debt.
keep your good creditors onboard. history matters.
once you pay off debt, don't carry high balances.
and don't apply for every card you get offered.
you are entitled 1 free redit report per year. the report should tell you who to pay and how much. I think it even says how to contact the companies you owe.
Here are some tips:
1. Only time and making your payments on time will truly clear your credit.
2. You need to get free copy of your credit report from the big 3. Once you get your reports then it is time to form your battle plan.
3. Dispute every account that you feel is incorrect. Do this in mid November because December is busy and they have 30 days to respond to your dispute or they have to remove it.
4. Use http://www.mycreditadvise.com to learn more about credit ratings and how to repair it.
Good luck
