bankruptcy is public record and can stay on forever..but if your score is over 700 and were denied, apply somewhere else--your credit is good enough to get a good rate somewhere
NOTHING "falls off" your credit report, you have to ASK for it to be removed.
Bankruptcy will stay on your record for 10 years. If your score is

Information can stay on a report nine years or longer AFTER the debt is considered closed. If you pull a copy of your report you should see under each item how long it is suppose to stay active or listed.
You need to request directly from the credit bureaus rather then some of the other services as they often create a 'composite' report from all three but leave off this important detailed information at the end of each listing. Since you recently applied and were denied credit this will be free but you need to list when the report was pulled and by whom when requesting a copy from each company and usually by old fashion letter, no quick on-line options usually for detailed reports.
Bankruptcy stays on your credit report for 10 years. Even with your score, it still concerns some lenders to know you've filed. Don't worry, you're in the home stretch. Mine slipped away quietly into the night in 2004 never to be heard from again.
Congrats on maintaining a high score after the fact.
