Debit cards??

I want to know about them-not the things the bank tells you, but from people who have used them- are they like credit cards? Does the money you put in the account gain interest?

Answers:
They are only like credit cards in the looks department. A debit card will automatically debit the cash account they are linked to. Most normal checking accounts do not gain interest but if the card was linked to a savings account interest would accumulate.
no interest just convenience of use.
Not sure where you are based, but in the UK debit cards are used like a credit card to purchase goods or services, however the money is deducted from your account instantly, there is no period of credit. The current account to which the debit card often earns minimal interest as long as it is in credit(not overdrawn)
