Can a judgment be removed from my credit report?

I have spoken to the original creditor who filed the judgment, and they say that now that it is paid, it will be removed. Is that even possible, since it's now a public record?

Answers:
Yes, if the original creditor tells the credit reporting agencies to remove, it will be done. The credit reporting agencies simply list and report the information provide by creditors, they have little or no power to control or affect your credit on their own. GOOD LUCK
It will now show as paid on your credit report. It is possible to get it removed as well by providing the satisfaction from the court to the 3 major credit agencies- Experian, Equifax, and Tran Union.
if said they were going to do it for u , then yea.. and your lucky that they are cause if not if would have been up to 10 years on your credit report..
I have heard of this happening, if the lender itself is willing to take the judgement off your record, if I am not mistaken they can. Only if the lender is willing to do this.

It usually will take 30 working days after the credit reporting agencies receives the request from the creditor to clear the judgement off your credit report.

You can request the lender to via fax you a copy of the letter sent to the credit reporting agencies for your records.

Good Luck,,,,,
yes conclut with attorney
You can go to annualcreditreport.com and get a copy of all 3 reports-then you can dispute the judgement on-line right then. They are all a little different but you just tell them they were paid and i think it will ask the date paid. They investigate and keep u updated thru e-mail-it take around 2 months for resolution. Good Luck.
YES, it is possible for the item to be completely removed from your credit report without a trace. From my experience there are two ways that this can happen: (1) the creditor requests that the item be removed or (2) the credit bureau removes it based on a dispute you file that they investigate and find to be valid.

If the creditor reports to the credit bureau to remove the item, follow up with the credit bureau to make sure. (Trust me on this--I learned the hard way!) Check your report with ALL THREE reporting bureaus (Experian, TransUnion and Equifax) to ensure that it's been removed. You can get one free copy of your report annually from all three bureaus at www.freecreditreport.com without purchasing any other options.
