I am studying in germany , my sister wants to send me money from england, hsbc has asked her for a sort code. I asked the deutsche bank and all that they could give is the ro uting number , bic (bank identification code) and the IBAN , which one of the 3 is a sort code?? she says that is 6 digits and all of these are more than 6 digits.
Answer:
HSBC should be able to use the IBAN code. Most banks use this for international banking. I know mine does.
sort code and routing code are the same. at the bottom of your check it has that information. it also has your account number and check number. scratch out the last two and you will have the routing number.
