I agree with Larry W dispute them and if the creditors do not acknowledge that they are valid and yours they will be removed. This is a quick and painless method; usually taking less than a month. Good Luck
Dispute them through the three credit bureaus, Equifax, Experian, and Transunion. If creditors have no record of it, then they will be deleted from your report.

The previous answers are on the right track...but not completely right.
First you gotta understand how the game is played. Please take the time to read the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
When you send a dispute letter to the credit bureau, all they are required to do is "verify" that the debt is accurate. They contact the creditor, and the creditor simply tells them it is. No real investigation is ever done. And since mose creditors lie through their teath, they simply "rubber stamp" the dispute.
What you will have to do (and it's required under the FDCA) is to send a "demand to validate" letter to the creditor. Then they will have to send you whatever proof they have regarding this debt, and you must get it within 30 days.
If they don't send this info, and continue to report this debt to your credit report, you can now sue them. You have followed to notification procedure.
