When someone dies and has credit card debt, who pays it?

Answers:
Under normal situations when a person dies all of their property and debts become part of an estate to be administered by a personal representative or executor. This person pays all the bills from the estate and distributes any remaining amounts to the beneficiaries of the estate as determined by the last will of the deceased or state law.

If there is not enough money to pay the deceased's credit cards then the credit card companies write the account off as bad debt. Good Luck
Their estate
usually the estate pays it
If the credit card debt is in the deceased persons name only? Their estate is liable for the debt.

If on the other hand the debt is joint? The co-signer is liable for the remaining debt.
