What is a good way to build up your credit??

what is a good way to build up your credit?? at age 17?? i dont have any credit right now but i would like to get some

Answers:
Credit Cards seems to be the best way to do this.
Most are highly regulated and will report to the 3 major credit bureaus (if you are in the USA).

Start with small amounts, pay them off on time, but you don't have to get all heated up and pay them way before they are due either. Just make sure you don't miss a payment.

Your credit will grow with your sterling sense of responsibility.

All the best,

get small loans thru a bank with a co/signer is the best way possible, when you pay back a few of these you wont need the co/signer anymore
At age 17 you are not of legal age to sigh a binding contract.

This leaves you a couple of options, you can get one of your parents to co-sign for a loan with your local bank or get them to add you as a authorized user on one of their credit cards that has a good/long pay history. When this shows up on your credit it will give you an instant score.
See if you can get one credit card. The amount you will be able to charge will be small. MAKE SURE YOU PAY ALL YOUR PAYMENTS ON TIME! Later apply for another card, again make sure all payments are on time. etc.
Do not pay any bills late, Another way I have heard it put, Pay each bill as if God wrote it.
You just think you do not have credit. Back in the old days, I could get three trade reports or credit on anybody.
Some people recommend that you take out a loan and pay it back promptly to establish credit. I have seen cases where that is helpful, but for all most everybody it is not worth it.
Good Luck.
Sit down with your parents and discuss this with them. If they are willing to help you, they can make you an authorized user on some of their credit cards that have been opened for a long time. They don't even have to let you have the cards. Just being on the account will give you a credit rating. Then apply for a credit card of your own. Just make sure you don't go over 30% of your line of credit (for example, for a line of credit of $1000, don't carry a balance of over $300). Better yet, just make small purchases each month and pay it off when the bill comes in. That way you are only paying for what you spent and no extra expense of interest. Credit is a responsibility and should not be taken lightly.
you can get creit from the age of 18 in the uk. start with a store card / credit card and pay it of well. also a mobile phone. if you also have a job. go on the voters roll. after about 4 months, you wil get credit and your score wil build up
