They are saying that they will write a grant for me for a down payment for my first home.They want me to send a money order for 394.00 to do the thing but I can not find out where to look to see if they are legit.

Usually when someone gives you a grant, it is money that doesnt have to be paid back and it should NOT cost you anything to obtain it. are you purchasing the home through a real estate agent? they would be able to set you up with grants that are available to you for your first home purchase.
