In the US, personal details including employers and addresses (not income) are reported by creditors to the credit bureaus. Other creditors can see this info when they check your credit.
I am not sure about in the UK. There are free credit counselling organizations in the UK that would know much more about it. They offer free telephone service, and you can visit one of their local offices also without charge. I would highly recommend it.
