How long should I be a member of a credit union to qualify for a car loan?

Answers:
It really depends on the credit union, but most of them don't have a criteria in place. In fact, you can join a credit union and get a car loan on the same day.

The best way to get a car loan thru your credit union is to go see them in person. What's so great about credit unions is that they're allowed to make decisions based on more than your credit score. If you spend time talking to a loan officer, you may be surprised at the kind of deal they will make you.
My credit unions requirement is 12 months. Another one in town is just 6 months so it depends on it's board of directors standards.
